Anyone know if Kramer ever used any nuts with the "R2 Made in Germany" engraving shown exactly like the one below?

https://reverb.com/item/8222530-vintage ... n-made-flo

The guitar in question is a Focus 1000 by Kramer (banana headstock, 84-85?).

The reason I ask is I've seen two of these Focii, within 100 serial numbers of each other. The one that had the nut shown above had an OFR. The other has the nut I am more accustomed to, "R2 Made in Germany 1.11" with the numbers at the end and a slightly different sized font. This guitar had a FRII with roller saddles which I assume to be stock due to wear and tear matching the rest of the hardware.

I'm wondering if the "R2 Made in Germany" was an older design and I caught one of the last of them before the transition (I play mostly pointies so I wouldn't know), or if it was added after-market along with the OFR (what I'm leaning on).

Any thoughts?

Kramer was the only maker allowed to use the FR product so there were tons of them put on guitars
The real early ones had "W.Germany"
I would say the R2 only was after market or Korean made.
The FRII had them (Striker).

That is the correct nut, I believe.

The 1.xx numbers vary, and when I asked the question here before about what that means, the consensus was that it probably represents different shops in Germany that were contracted to fabricate these. But they all appear to be equal quality. Some nuts don't have this 1.xx designation.

For example, all of the nuts shown below are original 80s-era German.

Great picture Doc!

That makes some sense. I was comparing the upper far right version against the bottom middle.

Curious, why does that R5 look more narrow than the R2's? scratch_head

I actually always had those, rarely ever had one with 1.11 or whatever additional numbers. Bought many of them new, they're legit.

To be more accurate, those #'s were thought to be machine ID's.

Yes thanks for the correction, I do remember that now.

That's funny! Never noticed about the R4 and R5 in that shot. Camera angle illusion, as the R4 had blocks and bolts attached so raised off the surface of the table, whereas the R5 had no blocks so sitting lower relative to camera lens. I'm looking at them right now and indeed the R5 is bigger (as it should be).
