Thanks again guys.

My first guitar in 1992 was a Charvel CSM-1G. I still have the guitar and have always loved the neck. It is very thin front to back and measures 40mm at the nut, it is similar to a pro axe in feel. I just never really played it because it doesn’t sound as good as my other guitars. Recently I threw an EMG 81/85 set I had laying around (I have Duncan’s in most guitars, never really got into actives) and some Gotoh locking tuners on the guitar and it’s suddenly becoming a great player. I now want to throw a good Trem on her and I think I’ll really have a great guitar. Oh I also changed out the nut.

I have a Babicz FCH trem on a 1994 MIM Strat Squire series. Couldn't be more happy with it. The trem can be set to dive-only or full float. I have it set for dive-only and it holds its tune quite for a non locking trem, and the guitar is not using locking tuners either.

I ended up going with a supervee bladeunner and a GFS. Will report back when they arrive. Thanks for all the responses. I probably would not have gone with a GFS if not for the positive feedback.

I looked into the Babicz, I couldn’t get past the name posted on it in huge text. I’m sure it’s awesome, I just wanted something a bit more subtle.

is the Guitar Fetish link broken for others, or just for me?
Thanks.

Thanks, might be firewall issues because I was trying to access it from work.

More to the point: if anybody has one of these GFS tremolos that you might want to sell or trade for something, let me know. Whatever size would fit a Squire Strat, that is the size I need. I am assuming all Squire Strats would be the same size in terms of fitting an aftermarket tremolo system? If that is incorrect assumption, then please somebody set me straight before I buy the wrong thing.

Squier strats are generally 1 1/16" but there are many different Squiers so measure to be sure. The possible issue is body depth as not all Squiers are 1 3/4" thick.

The GFS should fit the squire. They are $40 with a brass block!
