Hey everybody, if you've been around the forums for at least as long as I've had, ya'll are probably familiar with my green 'super-tele' project that I did a few years back; as much as I loved that guitar and always held it as my perfect instrument, I was never really able to bound with it. However, a few weeks ago I realized why; I just couldn't get the action set up the way I wanted it with the original pointy copy neck; whether be because the frets were small or just the shape of the neck overall. So... new neck!

Luckily I found a guy in Canada on the bay who makes nana necks out of some nice canadian rock maple; and they're a steal at 120 bucks! Thought what could i lose ya'know?

Well it came in and honestly, the fret job was horrible. There was NO WAY to get a decent action on the guitar with fret buzz ALL up and down the neck... so I took it upon myself to finally get into the REAL teching and bought not only tools to level the frets, but crowning tools, fret polishes, and numerous different oils for the fretboard. A few weeks of trial and error later and I've finally got the guitar to play how I want it to; and boy does she play NICE. The new neck is nice and chunky, and the only current issue is the high B string chokes out when played open; but that is just an issue with adjusting the nut. It's honestly not a huge bother right now, so that'll be a job for the future.

Also, I took the opportunity to put some REAL floyd posts in, and some new locking screws to replace the stripped ones on the cheap-y floyd copy. The same gold floyd copy still remains however, as it stays in tune just as well as any floyd original I've played.

Next up on the block is getting one of those big brass blocks...

Wish I could figure out how to rotate these images...

Anyways, now I need to get a new waterslide. I purchased a nice gold Kramer American logo off of ebay, but it was 10 bucks and ripped IMMEDIATELY as I was trying to install it, so I'm a bit wary about purchasing another.

Also I JUST gave this guitar a polish! I can't believe my fingerprints have ALREADY destroyed it :roll gosh dang italian genes are gonna be the death of my gits, I swear :whistle

It's this guy!

Again, the frets were pretty much a nightmare, but he used some decent material and I'm pretty sure they were at least jumbos; I removed a LOT of material from the frets to get them all even but there is still more than enough fret left over.

Also these necks have a scarf joint; not sure if that turns anyone off of them. It seems incredibly sturdy though and the truss rod is one of the most adjustable and easily used out of all my other guitars currently.

Defiantly my definition of a "dream guitar" :headbang

Think I'll make another super tele in the future, but with a neck single and a straight humbucker. It'd look killer in neon pink or a florescent red... or purple :roll

Thanks. I actually remember seeing his ads, looks good (well except for the scarf joint, but it's not a showstopper).

I havnt looked at his other necks, but he has some non tilt banana necks as well. Id assume they dont have a scarf joint, haha
